After more than a decade of collaboration, principals/partners Aura ZINk and CC RocQUE created ZINQUE as a holistic custom interiors design firm, to creatively enhance the lifestyles for every personality type. Together, Aura and CC believe that design is constantly evolving, and that the happiest results arrive via creative collaboration and comprehensive charrette. ZINQUE emphasizes innovation, quality, and client enjoyment to maximize the project experience for all team members.
A "true local" of Telluride (born and raised!), Aura draws design inspiration from the natural elements found in the beauty of the surrounding outdoors. She attended the Academy of Art in San Francisco from 2001-2006 where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts. When the urban lifestyle grew weary, she gravitated back to her hometown, and began working at Studio Frank, an interior architectural design firm, in 2007. After a decade of bespoke interior design experience, Aura formed ZINQUE with partner CC RocQUE. When not exploring creative possibilities, Aura can be found skiing and hiking with her son Whitman (and dog extraordinaire, Ace), training to get her private pilot license, and volunteering her time with the rescue missions of the Telluride Animal Foundation.
Hailing from Washington DC, where she attended The Sidwell Friends School, CC spent her college years in the woods of New Hampshire. At Dartmouth College, she explored several academic disciplines, focusing on engineering, art history, photography and architecture - including a raucous semester abroad in Florence, Italy. After graduating with a B.A. in Studio Art and a minor in Art History, CC moved directly to Telluride, where she spent her first career years working for Marla F. Croke Architecture and One Architects, followed by another 15 years of collaboration with Studio Frank. In 2018, CC formed ZINQUE with her partner Aura ZINk. When not hunched in front of ArchiCad on her computer, CC can be found stretching it out in yoga, soaking up sunshine, and chasing after her rambunctious kid (and even more rambunctious husband).
Rebecca Messier's passion for design was sparked at a young age, growing up in Seattle with a father deeply rooted in the building industry. Surrounded by construction, craftsmanship, and creativity, she developed a natural eye for design, which evolved into a lifelong pursuit of art and interior aesthetics. Now, with over 30 years of living in the picturesque mountain town of Telluride, Rebecca has cultivated a design philosophy that is deeply influenced by the beauty and tranquility of nature.
A practicing artist, Rebecca works with ceramics, cold wax, and thread on paper, bringing a tactile, artisanal quality to her interior design work. Her artistic background allows her to infuse unique textures, materials, and a sense of personal craftsmanship into each project she undertakes. She is dedicated to creating spaces that are not only functional but also reflect the personality and lifestyle of her clients, all while maintaining harmony with the surrounding environment.
An avid mountain biker and outdoor enthusiast, Rebecca finds inspiration in the rugged landscapes of the mountains she calls home, as well as the serene coastal retreats she loves to vacation in. This blend of mountain living and a love for the ocean informs her ability to create designs that are grounded, peaceful, and thoughtfully connected to the natural world.
A Canadian native joins us out West, eh! Sammy Moody was born and raised in the city of Toronto, up until the age of 14 when she decided to attend an outdoor focused boarding school. It was there that her love of nature and passion for creative avenues was intertwined. Post graduation she continued on to get her Bachelors degree in Communications and Arts at Laurier University. She then spent the following two years attending the New York Institute of Art and Design getting her degree in Interior Design where she could combine her creative talents with her organization skills. Sammy continues to practice her artistic skills in watercolour, needlework, and ceramics in her time out of office.
Sammy’s love of the outdoors is seen within the colours and textures she enjoys bringing inside beautiful spaces. She believes that the spaces we spend our time in should be conducive to making meaningful moments with the people we love. Not only does intuitive interior design help maximize our spaces, but it also allows people to express themselves and effect their headspace day to day.
During the summertime you can find her out hiking with her dog, attending local festivals, and enjoying the patios around town. In the winter she can be found on the slopes skiing, out snowshoeing, or tucked in at home with a good book.
